UPDATE: Man Robs Suffolk County Bank a Half-Hour After Trying to Rob Another: Police

Police have released surveillance photos of the man they say is behind both incidents.

Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery in Bay Shore and a bank robbery in Holbrook that occurred on Monday morning, Suffolk Police said.

The first incident occurred at a Chase Bank on 537 East Main St. in Bay Shore at 9:11 a.m.

A man handed the teller a note demanding cash and then fled the bank without any money to a car waiting on Saxon Avenue, police said

Approximately 30 minutes later, police say the same man entered Bank of America on 300 Union Ave. in Holbrook and handed the teller a note demanding cash, police said. The teller complied, and the man fled the bank on foot.

The robber was wearing jeans with white sneakers, sunglasses and a dark blue and white bandanna under a New York Jets baseball hat.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on these incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
