Suffolk County Woman Kept Dog, Birds In 'Deplorable' Conditions: SPCA
The 51-year-old was charged with cruelty to animals, according to the SPCA.

BAY SHORE, NY - A Bay Shore woman was arrested for keeping her birds and dog in unhealthy, unsanitary conditions, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.
On Saturday, SPCA detectives responded to investigate a complaint of animal neglect at the N. Thompson Drive home of 51-year-old Michelle Benners-Pratt, according to the SPCA.
Officers then discovered she was keeping the animals in "deplorable" conditions.

The local fire department responded to ventilate the house and safely remove the animals. The animals were transported in the SPCA Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital to the Islip Animal Shelter.
Benners-Pratt was charged with cruelty to animals and will appear in court on July 29.
