SUV Driver Wanted For Leaving Scene Of Hit-And-Run Crash

An unknown person struck an Uber driver, who was assaulted by two passengers earlier that day. Police are offering a reward for info.

BAY SHORE, NY - Suffolk Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run crash in Bay Shore earlier this year.

An Uber driver was attacked by two passengers on Union Boulevard on May 11 at 1:35 a.m.

After the attack, the driver, a 26-year-old Brightwaters man, stood on the eastbound lane of Union Boulevard, 25 feet east of Montgomery Avenue, when he was struck by a white SUV or van that fled the scene.

The man was then transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of a broken pelvis, injuries to his right leg and a broken scapula.

The men that attacked the Uber driver were arrested for the assault, however the driver of the SUV is still at large.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
