Town Of Islip To Kick Off New Drive-In Movie Series Next Week

The free series will run weekly on Mondays through September, and movies will be shown at various locations throughout the town.

BAY SHORE, NY — During the coronavirus pandemic, drive-in movies have had a revival across Long Island, and now another one will be coming to Bay Shore next week. The Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will be hosting its first of a new Monday Night Drive-In Movie Night series.

The first event will take place on June 15 at the Dick’s parking lot of the Westfield South Shore Mall.

Attendees can enjoy a showing Mary Poppins Returns. Gates will open at 7 p.m. and the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. The free series will run weekly on Mondays through September, and movies will be shown at various locations throughout the town.

Guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Islip Food for Hope Food Pantry.
