Woman Killed In Suffolk House Fire

The fire appeared to be non-criminal.

BAY SHORE, NY - A woman was killed after a Bay Shore house fire on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Police officers responded to a call of a house fire at 18 20th Avenue at 6:50 p.m.

The sole occupant of the home called 911 due to an active fire within the house.

The caller, a woman who has not yet been identified, was evacuated from the house by members of the Brentwood Fire Department.

She was then transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire appears to be non-criminal at this time. The investigation is continuing.
