Woman Robbed 5 Suffolk Businesses At Gunpoint In 1 Week: Police

The 18-year-old was arrested Tuesday in connection to the five gunpoint robberies reported between Dec. 27 and Jan. 3, police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY - A Bay Shore woman was arrested on Tuesday in connection to five robberies across Suffolk County over the course of a week, according to Suffolk Police.

Between Dec. 27 and Jan. 3, five businesses reported that a woman entered, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, demanded cash and fled with proceeds.

Following an investigation, the robberies were found to be committed by 18-year-old Anahi Gomez, police said.

According to police, Gomez was charged with five counts of first degree robbery for the following robberies:

  • Applegreen gas station on 540 Islip Avenue in Islip on January 3 at 9:22 p.m.
  • Grog Shop Liquors on 185 Depot Road in Huntington Station on December 30 at 7:27 p.m.
  • 76 gas station on 1714 New York Avenue in Huntington Station on December 28 at 10:45 p.m.
  • Delta gas station on 85 Church Street in Lake Ronkonkoma on December 27 at 9:32 p.m.
  • Valero gas station on 1628 Montauk Highway in Oakdale on December 27 at 8:31 p.m.

Anahi is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 8.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on these robberies to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
