Woman Set Fire To Furniture While People Were Inside Apartment: PD

BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore woman set furniture on fire inside an apartment while other people were inside, Suffolk County police said.

Mary Montigy, 59, was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree arson, police said.

Montigy intentionally set the furniture on fire at about 10:30 a.m. in an apartment located on Saxon Avenue in Bay Shore, police said. She was arrested three hours later, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.
