Bayside Woman Dead After Crash Sends Cars Into Cement Wall: Cops
The crash happened around 11 a.m. Friday near 33rd Avenue and 202nd Street, police said. Gwendolyn Booklan, 92, died on Saturday.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Police are investigating a crash in Bayside that left a 92-year-old passenger dead. A Nissan Altima sedan was heading west on 33rd Avenue around 11 a.m. Friday when the car collided with a Toyota Corolla that was heading north on 202nd Street, the NYPD said. Both vehicles then smashed into a cement retaining wall, police said.
Gwendolyn Booklan, the 92-year-old passenger who was in the front of the Altima, was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Queens in critical condition with head and body injuries, the NYPD said. Booklan, of Bayside, died on Saturday from her injuries, police said.
The 19-year-old driver of the Corolla and the 59-year-old driver of the Altima were not hurt and both stayed at the scene, police said. No arrests have been made, the NYPD said.
