Bayside Bus Stop Vandals Keep Shattering Glass Shelters, Cops Say
Police are investigating least seven separate incidents of shattered glass at Bayside bus shelters, according to the NYPD.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Police in Bayside are looking for the culprits breaking the glass panels at a series of bus stop shelters.
Officers in the NYPD's 111th Precinct are investigating at least seven separate incidents of shattered glass at Bayside bus shelters, a police spokesperson said.
Police received the reports starting March 17, according to the spokesperson. Officers are looking for surveillance footage of the bus stops to determine who's responsible for the recent spates of vandalism, which residents have been documenting on social media.

The 109th Precinct, which covers Bay Terrace, has not received any similar reports, according to the spokesperson.
The reported bus stop locations include: Springfield Blvd. at the Horace Harding Expressway, Bell Blvd. and 36th Ave., 73rd Ave. and Bell Blvd., 210th St. and 73rd Ave., 76th Ave. and Springfield Blvd., 67th Ave. and Springfield Blvd., Francis Lewis Blvd. and 47th Ave.

The 111th Precinct's neighborhood coordination officers are investigating to see if there are additional incidents.
The NYPD encourages residents to report any such bus shelters to their local precinct with any photographs or videos they took. The city also collects reports of broken glass and other vandalism at bus stop shelters here.
