The Open Sew will take place at the castle in Fort Totten.

The Bayside Historical Society is hosting a sewing circle event on April 27 at the castle in Fort Totten.

The Open Sew, which is being held in conjunction with Queens Sewing Social, will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Those interested in attending should bring a completed project or work in progress, such as a quilt or garment, to share with the group as well as sewing supplies.

A few sewing machines will be available, but those planning to attend who own a machine should bring it with them. Pressing stations, including irons and ironing boards, will be provided.

The event will cost $12 at the door for non-members and $10 for meetup members with advance RSVP on the Queens Sewing Social's event page. Bayside Historical Society members will pay $8.

The historical society is located at 208 Totten Ave. in Bayside.
