1 In Custody After B.B. Gun Found At Benjamin Cardozo High School
One person is in custody after a report of a person with a gun sent the Bayside high school into a lockdown, according to the NYPD.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — One person is in custody after a report of a person with a gun sent Benjamin N. Cardozo High School into a lockdown Friday, police said. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Police received a 911 call at 2:13 p.m. Friday about an armed person at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, QNS.com reported. The suspect in police custody is a male student at the school, according to QNS.com.
The report prompted a soft lockdown, which applies when there is no imminent danger, according to the NYC Department of Education.

“A serious allegation was immediately reported to the NYPD, who conducted a thorough search and swiftly recovered a B.B. gun. All students and staff are safe, and the lockdown was lifted,” a spokesperson for the Department of Education said.
"All students are under staff supervision and safe in their assigned locations," the school announced on its website.
