I had a dog named Rex who loved cantaloupe. The only trouble was, eating them made him sad. He was a real melon collie!
The only way that Rex could deal with his melon sadness was to work in his vegetable garden. You should have seen the huge collie flowers he grew!
I'd ask him how he got them to grow so big, but he was always vague about it. I guess he was afraid to be de-tailed!

Rex also used to love to run across the fields behind our home. He'd really move fast with his tail wagon!
But then one day he ran through the thicket, and got those sticky seeds all over his fur. "I guess you're not a collie anymore," I said to him. "You're a burred dog! Don't do that again or I'll feed you those greens that make you a collard dog!"
