The NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course is an advanced training program that addresses the unique challenges faced by first responders and medical personnel in tactical and high-risk environments. Designed to enhance the preparedness and capability of healthcare professionals, particularly those operating in law enforcement, military, and other tactical settings, TECC equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to provide life-saving medical care under the most demanding and hazardous circumstances.

This is a TWO DAY COURSE from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sept 6th &amp; 7th

99th Annual Memorial Day Parade to honor those who have fallen in defense of our Nation

The Community Church of Douglaston

The Tuesday Morning Music Club of Douglaston will present a free concert of classical music, the last of the 2025-2026 season, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM.&nbsp;&nbsp; The concert will feature performances by performing members as well as a guest artist, Susan Sobelewski: Jeong-Hwa Park and Ms. Sobelewski, pianists, will perform music of Schubert.&nbsp; Ronald Meixsell, bass-baritone, and Julie Ann Meixsell, soprano, will perform music by a variety of composers in genres including classical, opera, and operetta, accompanied by Aglaia Messina, pianist.

The concert will take place at the Community Church of Douglaston, 39-50 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, NY.&nbsp; Admission is free and open to the public; no tickets are required. 

Since 1921, the Tuesday Morning Music Club of Douglaston has enhanced the cultural life of its membership and the community by presenting the finest of musical works and performers to its audience of general members and guests.&nbsp; The club also provides scholarship assistance to talented and worthy student musicians.&nbsp; Guests are invited to become members to help the Club continue this important cultural tradition.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Join the Bayside Historical Society and the Bayside Hills Civic Association as we commemorate Memorial Day at the historic Captain Dermody Triangle in Bayside Hills, one of NYC's oldest war memorials. Alongside community leaders and distinguished guests, we will lay a wreath in remembrance of Baysider Captain William C. Dermody and all those who courageously served in the Civil War.

Bayside Historical Society

Get ready for an exciting spring adventure into the colorful world of butterflies and pollinators! Join Wing (Ms. Butterfly), a nature educator and creator, as we explore the amazing species that call our area home, gaining a deeper understanding of their shapes, patterns, and life cycles. Participants will have the opportunity to observe real specimens up close, offering a rare and engaging look at these fascinating creatures. Through guided exploration, we’ll learn how pollinators live, grow, and support the ecosystems around us.
Following our discovery session, children will be encouraged to craft their own nature-inspired artwork to take home. This activity is appropriate for children of all ages, though parental or caretaker supervision is advised for very young children. It's an ideal experience for curious kids and families who enjoy hands-on learning and creativity. Feel free to dress up as your favorite pollinator!
Cost: $5 for all kids under 12; $10 for adult members; $15 for adult non-members.
