Council Member Paul A. Vallone joined the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and Shannon Gaels GAA at Shannon Gaels’ Ground Breaking Ceremony on Saturday, June 20th. The Council Member, along with Queens Borough Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski, announced the construction of Shannon Gaels’ Gaelic football field would begin this summer at Frank Golden Park in College Point. Council Member Vallone’s office has contributed roughly $200,000 to the cost of construction of the field.
“The upgrades to Frank Golden Park is an example of the great work that can be done through public-private partnerships. Our community will only benefit from these improvements which include new fields, a toddler playground and the adding of energy-efficient lighting. I congratulate Shannon Gaels on this achievement,” Council Member Vallone said.
