Location: Across from the Douglaston Railroad Station
Join Councilman Dan Halloran, District 19, in paying tribute to local veterans and fallen victims of 9/11. Local officials and clergy are invited to gather with neighbors around the Douglaston stone monument, which honors the 60 men and women veterans of World War I from the community. The monument will be a touchstone to remember those war heroes, along with those who died in the Tragedy of 9/11.
Earlier this year, Halloran succeeded in helping to restore the monument. Also invited are members of the Douglaston Civic Association and sevral VFW/ American Legion Posts.
