Family Talk: Modern Family Child Star's Custody Case Continues
Ariel Winter's custody case has been scheduled to go to trial in October.

Maybe mother doesn't always know best.
A trial is set to take place in October in the custody case involving "Modern Family" child star Ariel Winter.
Chrisoula Workman, Winter's mother, has not had custody of the star since November of last year following alleged reports of physical abuse and complaints that Workman sexualized the teen.

The 15-year-old is currently being cared for by her older sister, Shanelle Gray, who is 19 years her senior.
Gray has testified that she also experienced abuse at the hands of their mother, which led to her moving in with other family members when she was Ariel's same age.

Workman denies all of the allegations and claims that Ariel is falsely accusing her because she ended the teen's relationship that, according to Workman, turned sexual.
In her testimony against Ariel's attestation of abuse, Workman added "she can cry at the drop of a hat … you can watch her movies and see it."
While more details will undoubtedly surface as the trial ensues, it's ridiculous to say that you should not believe a child's claims of abuse because she is an actress.
Very seldomly do children lie about abuse.
The court order in place now prohibits Workman from contacting her own daughter directly, which illustrates the severity with which the courts are taking the matter at hand.
Workman's goal should be to mend the bond between her and both of her daughters and not just to prove that she is a good mother to the courts.
It's extremely telling that, after all this time, Ariel refuses to go to therapy sessions with her mother as included in a People report.
It's hardly plausible that a tiff about a boyfriend last year would still be the motive behind Ariel not wanting to communicate with her own mother after all of this time.
Luckily for Ariel, she has the support of her sister and the involvement of the courts and therapists who all have her best interest at heart.
