And being celebrities, yes that's news.

With the pop culture society we live in, we see how every pregnancy, and even lack thereof, makes headines when it comes to celebrities.
In a recent interview in Out magazine, de Rossi explains "You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So, it's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies."

Reading the statement gave me an instant flashback to the scene in "Sex and the City 2," where Carrie is met with a rather shocked and dismayed woman's reaction at the fact that she and Mr. Big were not planning on having kids.
The "just us two" choice that a couple makes is many times met with confused reactions by those who don't understand why and how a married pair would not want kids.
Celebuzz highlighted an admission de Rossi makes in reaching a point in adulthood where there is an unspoken pressure to have kids, or risk "[missing] out on something that other people really seem to love."
There is definitely something that happens in adulthood when there inexplicable desires just seem to manifest themselves.
For some, it's getting married and watching every reality TV show that ties into the wedding process becomes a necessity.
For others, it's having kids and doting over every cooing baby just seems to happen no matter where you are.
But I don't think those desires that come about at different stages and ages of our lives should be equated with pressure.
If the basis of a life decision is steeped in pressure and based on what society or others around you "seem to love," then that's definitely not the way to go.
Too many times women have children because of that same pressure. It is okay to be a woman and not want to have kids.
Kudos to the women who know what they want in their lives and stick to their own ideals and not the ones placed upon them.
Kids are a blessing and the prospect of having them should never be looked at or associated with pressure, but rather joy and excitement.
And knowing that difference, which de Rossi and DeGeneres seem to, has obviously led to the happiness the married duo share.
