Halloran Hosts Blood Drive in Whitestone

Councilman and New York Blood Center surpass goal in terms of pints donated.

Councilman Dan Halloran’s office and the New York Blood Center collected 26 pints of blood during a drive this past weekend in Whitestone.

The blood drive was held in a mobile unit in front of Key Food at the Whitestone Shopping Center.

The 26 pints collected by Halloran’s office through volunteers who donated to the drive surpassed the blood center’s goal, said Kevin Ryan, a spokesman for the councilman.

“The need for blood is always great,” Ryan said. “There’s no substitute for it. It can’t be synthesized. The good people of our district always step up and donate, no matter what. It’s not about politics. It’s about saving lives.”
