In Honor of Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha'Atzmaut

In honor of Yom Hazikaron & Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel Advocacy Presents: Above and Beyond on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Congregation L’Dor V’Dor, 49-10 Little Neck Pkwy.

Program Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – Memorial Observance for Fallen IDF Soldiers; 7:30 p.m. – Israeli Supper; 8:00 p.m. – Documentary Film: Above and Beyond; 9:30 p.m. – Coffee and Cake.

Would you risk everything – your future, your citizenship, even your life – to help a brother in need? In 1948, just three years after the liberation of Nazi death camps, a group of Jewish American pilots answered a call for help. In secret and at great personal risk, they smuggled planes out of the U.S., trained behind the Iron Curtain in Czechoslovakia and flew for Israel in its War of Independence. As members of Machal – “volunteers from abroad” – this ragtag band of brothers not only turned the tide of the war; they also embarked on personal journeys of discovery and renewed Jewish pride. ABOVE AND BEYOND is their story.

There is no charge for the program but reservations are required! Please click here to RSVP by May 4th! We kindly ask for a suggested donation of $18.00 to be donated to the Friends of the IDF. Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is committed to providing these soldiers with well being and educational services in an effort to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.
