Karpas

A ritual Seder dish of vegetables dipped in salt water

Karpas is a traditional ritual in the Passover Seder, made by dipping vegetable in salt water before serving them.

Served as an appetizer with the hope to encourage the children at Seder to ask questions about their heritage and history, the salt water represents the bitterness of slavery while the dipping is a sign of freedom.

As a twist on this simple recipe, use vinegar or any liquid capable of making food ritually pure.
