Little Neck Teen Charged in Shooting of Douglaston Man to Return to Court Next Week
Caleb Ahn, 16, and Astoria's Karma Sonam Will Appear in Queens Criminal Court on April 13

A Little Neck teenager and another youth from Astoria who have been accused of shooting a 28-year-old Douglaston man will return to court on April 13, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney said.
Caleb Ahn, 16, of Little Neck, and Karma Sonam, 16, are alleged to have shot Douglaston’s Bernard Cho on Northern Boulevard in Flushing on March 14, Queens DA Richard Brown said.
At the time of the shooting, the defendants and the victim were alleged to have been negotiating the purchase of an unspecified amount of marijuana, the DA said.

Both Ahn and Sonam have been charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and robbery, according to the criminal complaint.
The defendants, who were held without bail, could face up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted, the DA said.

Ahn and Sonam appeared before Queens Criminal Court Judge Barry Kron on Friday. The duo, who have not been indicted, will return to the Kew Gardens Courthouse on April 13, a DA spokeswoman said.
The defendants were alleged to have also struck a second man in the head with a firearm, causing a laceration and swelling to the head, the DA said. They allegedly fired one round at the man, hitting him in the back, he said.
The victim, who has not been identified, was sent to Booth Memorial Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
