Meng, Lancman Miss Votes for Campaign: Report

Candidates have skipped three-quarters of Assembly votes since race began.

Assembly members Grace Meng, D-Flushing, and Rory Lancman, D-Fresh Meadows, may be duking it out for a chance to run for Congress, but there is one title they've already both won according to the Daily News: legislative truant.

Both Meng and Lancman have missed 75 percent of possible votes in Albany since they began campaigning for the new Sixth Congressional District seat earlier this year.

The News reported on Monday that since the campaign began, Lancman has missed a whopping 192 votes while casting 55 since March 22. Meng is right on his heels with 188 votes missed and 59 cast.

The paper added that while both campaigns have chastised another opponent — City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, D-Middle Village — for missing or arriving late to debates, she has yet to miss a Council vote at City Hall during the same period.
