P.S. 41 to Host Centennial Celebrations

The Crocheron School opened its doors in October 1916, so the upcoming Centennial Year will feature celebrations in October and June.

On Friday, October 14, 2016, P.S. 41 will kick off its Centennial Year with a Centennial Celebration Assembly from 9-11 am. Due to the extremely limited number of seats, this free event will be by invitation only. (Remember how small our auditorium is?)

The Centennial Committee has set up a Facebook page and a special web site dedicated to the year-long commemoration of the founding of the school. Please visit ps41qcentennial.com and subscribe to the mailing list to keep up to date on centennial news. If you are a member of Facebook, join the group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/PS41QCentennial/ for updates and photo sharing.

If you are a former student, staff member, or community member who would like to be considered for a ticket to the October 14 event, please contact Mary Bow through e-mail only at MBow@schools.nyc.gov. Although we can’t guarantee seats, we will do our best to accommodate requests. (Please note that we will not be able to offer tours of the building on this day--it is, after all, a school day!)

In June 2017, the school will conclude its Centennial Year with a huge outdoor festival. Planning will be in the works for that all year, with details to be announced.
