32-Year-Old Found Shot Dead At Marcy Houses, Cops Say

Cops found Jamel Edmonds with multiple gunshot wounds behind his home at the housing complex on Thursday, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A 32-year-old was shot dead at the Marcy Houses on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Cops found Jamel Edwards with gunshot wounds to his chest and head behind his home on Park Avenue just after 6 p.m., according to police.

Emergency responders took him to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

There were no arrests as of Friday morning.

The shooting is the latest in an ongoing surge in shootings across the five boroughs. There have been almost double the number of shootings in Bed-Stuy's 79th Precinct so far this year when compared to the same time period in 2019.
