85-Year-Old Woman Found Stabbed To Death Inside Brooklyn Apartment: NYPD

Police are investigating after an 85-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her Bed-Stuy home on Throop Avenue.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for answers after an 85-year-old woman was found stabbed to death inside her Brooklyn home, authorities said.

Julia Boomer was stabbed multiple times inside her Bedford-Stuyvesant home near Throop Avenue and Decatur Street late Tuesday, authorities said.

Her daughter made the horrifying discovery just before 10 p.m., when she walked into the apartment and found her mother injured, police said.

Boomer had been stabbed multiple times in her head, neck and upper body and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, officials added.

As of early Wednesday, no one had been charged in the stabbing. A relative is in custody for questioning, and no additional details have been released as authorities continue investigating what led up to the attack.
