Antione Slaughter MVP at 2011 Spalding Hoophall Classic

Boys and Girls High School beat Academy of the New Church, PA at the 10th Anniversary of the 2011 Spalding Hoophall Classic, a nationally televised invitational of the nation's top high school talent:

The Kangaroos trailed by 16 points with just about a minute elapsed in the fourth quarter.

Antione Slaughter missed a shot that would have won the game but was able to redeem himself during overtime.

"I just wanted the guys to get in the game and get something going to the basket," Boys and Girls coach Ruth Lovelace said of her team's fourth-quarter adjustments. "We had to make a decision to drive to the basket."

But Antione Slaughter's basket with 2.1 seconds remaining in overtime sent Boys & Girls to a 47-45 victory Monday at the Spalding HoopHall Classic at Springfield College.

Antione Slaughter was named game MVP.
