BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Bed-Stuy residents weren't shy about popping off 311 calls to complain about rogue fireworks displays.
Three Bed-Stuy zip codes ranked among the city's top 20 for illegal fireworks complaints during the coronavirus lockdown starting in March, according to 311 data.
Together, residents in 11206, 11221 and 11233 fired off 61 calls to complain about noisy illegal fireworks.

It's part of an explosion of fed-up Brooklynites whose reactions to fireworks during lockdown was less "ooo" and more "ahhhh." The borough saw 667 illegal fireworks complaints since the state went on "PAUSE," data shows.
The fiery frustrations seemed to boil over in June, which has so far seen a 4,000 percent increase in complaints compared to this time last year, Gothamist first reported.

Bed-Stuy's firework-heavy zip codes may outpace much of New York City, but they still fall far behind an area southeast of Prospect Park encompassing parts of Flatbush, Ditmas Park and Crown Heights.
The 11226 zip code alone had 300 complaints during the coronavirus lockdown, according to data.
