Bed-Stuy Man Shot Dead Outside Church, Police Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A man was shot dead outside a church near his Bed-Stuy home Wednesday night, police said.

Claudell Gary, 37, was shot in the neck and leg near Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holy Church at 175 Hart St. at about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, said police.

Emergency responders rushed Gary — who lived about one block east of the church — to Woodhull Hospital where he later died, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, said police.
