BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — One of Brooklyn’s own will help manage the historic impeachment of President Donald Trump.

U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, who represents Bed-Stuy among other neighborhoods for the Eighth Congressional District, will be one of seven impeachment managers for a Senate trial.

Those managers will walk articles of impeachment to the Senate if an expected House vote today is successful.

“Mr. Jeffries is honored to serve as an impeachment manager during this critical time in American history,” Jeffries’ office said in statement. “Along with his colleagues, he will follow the facts, apply the law, be guided by the Constitution and present the truth to the American people.”

Jeffries’ appointment by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi adds yet another familiar New York face to a very Big Apple-centric impeachment affair.

Trump shot to fame as a New York developer and reality television star before being elected president. His attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani played a prominent role over events in Ukraine which prompted the impeachment inquiry.

House Judiciary Chairman and Manhattanite Jerrold Nadler Jr. presided over hearings during which Democrats made the case on that Trump withheld aid to Ukraine as pressure for an investigation into his Democratic rival Joe Biden. They charged him with abuse of power and with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams issued a statement highlighting Jeffries’ and Nadler’s appointments as impeachment managers.

“Congress Members Hakeem Jeffries and Jerry Nadler are fair and thoughtful representatives of New York, and I know they will carry out their duty to our country during this impeachment trial with the utmost integrity,” Adams wrote. “As I have said in the past, impeachment isn’t something to celebrate.”

Jeffries was born in Brooklyn and currently lives in Prospect Heights, according to his website. His district includes Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill, Coney Island, parts of Queens, among bits of other neighborhoods.
