Bicyclist Shoots Uber Passenger In Bed-Stuy And Rides Away: Cops
The 26-year-old passenger died after police found him with gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A man taking an Uber in Bed-Stuy late Tuesday night was shot and killed by a bicyclist while he was still in the back of the car, police said.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in front of 1047 Bedford Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. and found a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his neck and chest when they arrived, police said.
The man had been a passenger in the back of an Uber that had been stopped at that address when a shooter on a bicycle rode up and shot him, police confirmed. The bicyclist rode away before officers got there.

The Independent Drivers Guild, a group that represents app-based drivers in the city, urged safety after the two incidents.
"We are shocked and saddened by news of this shooting," spokesman Moira Muntz said. "It is deeply disturbing, particularly as it comes on the heels of the murder of another young New Yorker in a for-hire vehicle just a few days ago, our fellow driver Ganiou Gandonou. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family, the driver, and all involved."
Drivers should use caution and install cameras in their vehicles for protection, she added.
The person on the bicycle is still unidentified and there have been no arrests yet, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
