The storefront of the collapsed building at 1438 Fulton is a hair-braiding salon named Sahil Inc.

The owner of the salon, Bashir Hamadou, tells Patch that the store is permanently closed and that the building has no current tenants.

The NYPD is asking drivers to “avoid Fulton, Albany to Nostrand & Tompkins, Fulton to Halsey” so ambulances can get to the collapse site. Dozens of emergency personnel can still be seen swarming at the scene.

The A and C Trains are also reportedly experiencing delays due to the accident.
