The Hendrick I. Lott House Tree Lighting

Neighborhood: Marine Park

What: Come see this historic Dutch home during one of the few occasions when the property is open to the public. There will be cocoa and a visit from Sinterklaas.

Pulitzer Surprises

Neighborhood: Park Slope

What: Apparently anyone can nominate anything for a Pulitzer. This show, hosted by Eliza Cossio of The Daily Show and Caroline Schaper of Full Frontal, will feature a slew of comedians performing their questionable submissions.

Where: Union Hall at 702 Union St.

When: 10 p.m. Friday


BUST Craftacular

Neighborhood: Greenpoint

What: This award-winning DIY culture celebration features eclectic handmade and vintage vendors, DJs, food, cocktails and DIY activities for all ages.

Where: Brooklyn Expo Center at 72 Noble St.

When: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday


Historic Arts & Culture Trolley Tour

Neighborhood: East New York

What: This holiday tour will showcase some of East New York's historic sites, and will be lead by Zulmilena Then of Preserving East New York.

Where: ARTs East New York at 534 Livonia Ave.

When: 1:30 p.m. Saturday


Awkward Family Holiday Pet Photoshoot + Fundraiser

Neighborhood: Bushwick

What: Take a delightfully awkward holiday photo of you and your pooch. Proceeds go to two Brookly animal rescues: Sugar Mutts Rescue and Whiskers-a-GoGo.

Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker

Neighborhood: Flatbush

What: See Tchaikovsky's holiday classic as performed by the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker at the Kings Theatre.

When: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday


Forever Festival XYZ - The Surrealist Carnival

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

What: This will be a night of multi-sensory experiences, apparently, with music, acrobats, art installations, and absurdist ceremony. Guests are encouraged to wear surrealist outfits.

When: 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday


Withnail & I Drink-Along

Neighborhoods: Williamsburg

What: This: "Sometimes all you need is to see Richard E. Grant in his underwear trying to fish with a shot gun."

The ShopUp

Neighborhood: Gowanus

What: Come explore a family-focused holiday fair with vendors from boutique shops from around the world.

The Iron Giant At The Alamo

Neighborhoods: Downtown Brooklyn

What: Watch this pre-Pixar craze classic at the Alamo. Proceeds will go to the Brooklyn nonprofit 826NYC.
