Cops Arrest Shooter Who Killed Man Outside Bed-Stuy Home

Anthony Vasquez, 28, was charged with murder for fatally shooting James Halsey on a Bed-Stuy street, police said.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — The shooter who killed a Bed-Stuy man in front of his home last month has been arrested, police said.

Anthony Vasquez was charged with murder for shooting 28-year-old James Halsey in the head near the corner of Madison Street and Throop Avenue at about 7:50 p.m. on April 9, said police.

A nearby ShotSpotter — a sound sensor that can detect gunshots — alerted NYPD officers who rushed to the scene, according to police.

Vasquez, 28, is a Bed-Stuy resident who lives just blocks away from where Halsey was shot, said police.

He was arrested Wednesday afternoon at about 1 p.m., police said.
