Endless Summer Sandwich Closes After 3 Years On DeKalb
The brick-and-mortar sibling of the Endless Summer Taco truck announced it would close for good this month.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A beloved Bed-Stuy lunch spot with the self-proclaimed “best fried chicken sandwich in New York” has closed for good, the eatery announced this month.
Endless Summer Sandwich — the brick-and-mortar sibling of the Endless Summer Taco truck — shut its doors at 535 Dekalb Ave. for the last time on Dec. 12, according to a Facebook post.
“It’s been a fun three years folks, but it’s time to hang it up,” restaurant owners wrote on Facebook. “We greatly appreciate everything. Hope to see you all again soon.”

Owner Teddy Roland — who told DNAinfo that he “started the vending trend in Williamsburg” — opened the Endless Summer in November 2014 after the taco truck scene got too intense on Bedford Avenue, Roland said.
“This is what we dreamed of,” Roland said of Endless Summer Sandwich, “a place where we can play and mess around with our own ideas.”

Endless Summer served a wide range of subs with original sauces and earned several accolades during its three years on Dekalb Avenue, including a shout out from Brooklyn Magazine for its braised cauliflower sandwich.
Diners took to social media to mourn the loss of their favorite sandwich joint.
“Ordering like 60 tomorrow and freezing em,” one Bed-Stuy resident said on Facebook.
“I hope you make a comeback in some shape or form,” Hunter Mulich wrote on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “Never had a bad sandwich from the crew.”
The restaurant replied, “Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully something will come up in the future.”
