Jazz singer Marion Cowings is a native New Yorker. His smooth baritone voice and considerable range has been delighting audiences around the world for decades. Mentored by the legendary Jon Hendricks, Marion is a master of scat and vocal technique. He has appeared at the Blue Note, Village Vanguard, and Lincoln Center as well as many prestigious venues abroad.
He was also a lead in the hundredth anniversary tribute to Count Basie and Glenn Miller at the Lucille Lortel Theater, both directed by Mercedes Ellington. Recently he has conducted master classes at many colleges and universities. Cowings' State Department tours to Russia, Cyprus and Kuwait have helped spread jazz around the world.

Involved in commercials, voiceovers and jingles, Marion received the advertising industry's Clio Award with one of his mentors, Hal Schaefer. He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a published lyricist with Quincy Jones, Wayne Shorter, Frank Foster, and Sonny Rollins.

An up close and personal jazz room that features some of todays Best JAZZ ARTISTS, keeping America’s first original music alive. Jazz Artists that have played, studied, toured, jammed and recorded on the major jazz scene for years.

these two host will present you with today's best Jazz Artist.
Included in your evening will be a traditional Southern fish fry buffet. Cooked on site in a traditional way.
