For My Sweet Garden/ Kalahari Gallery showcases the best in jazz every Monday evening in Brooklyn, New York City. On Monday April 27 this jazz series will host the band Kiss and Ride which is based out of the Washington D.C area. Kiss and Ride is fronted by the phenomenal vocalist Carly Harvey, and this particular show will also showcase the incredible guitarist Sol Roots.

Carly Harvey’s music can be described as a fusion of Blues, Jazz, Folk, and Rock styles. Carly Harvey is a powerful and emotional singer who draws influences from artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, and Nina Simone. Carly has been classically trained and has performed internationally, as well as across the east coast United States.
In addition to recently releasing the single “Love Me like a Man,” Carly has also released an international crossover album “Among The Stars” with Italian producer/composer Taste of Dream.

Sol Roots is a world class guitarist and soulful singer who has toured around the world with many musical pioneers and legends. Sol has been on bills with Soulive, Booker T Jones, Shemekia Copeland, Dumpstaphunk, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, and more.
Sol Roots is an official Home Grown Music Network and a Music Maker Relief Foundation artist.
Drummer Joe Izzo has been busy on the New York City scene since relocating there in 2008 from North Carolina. He has played at many of the popular music venues there including The Highline Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge, The Bitter End, The Bowery Electric, and Sullivan Hall to name a few.
His studies as a jazz performance major at North Carolina Central University allowed him to perform with Branford Marsalis, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Eric Revis, Joey Calderazzo, Joe Chambers, Terrell Stafford and others.
Bassist Pablo Lanouguere was born in Buenos Aires Argentina and is an active musician and composer. Pablo plays electric and double bass. He specializes in Jazz, Soul, and Funk music as well as performing Tango, Rock, Pop, Reggae, Folklore, Candombe, and more.
