Sister Margaret McCabe Honored For 30 Years at NYC Department of Correction
Long time Catholic Chaplain has touched many lives
Sister Margaret McCabe (left), the longtime Catholic Chaplain of the Robert N. Davoren Center, the jail that houses adolescent inmates on Rikers Island, was honored recently at a roll call/plaque ceremony for 30 years of service and dedication. Commissioner Joe Ponte (right) presented Sister McCabe with a plaque recognizing her service.
RNDC Warden Karen Collins (not pictured), said of Sister McCabe: “Sister Margaret is well-loved by her entire staff at RNDC as she goes from office to office, from area to area each morning giving hugs to each staff member she passes in the corridor. She has been a matriarch to everyone for three decades, giving staff years of unconditional support and guidance.”
