Teen Caught With Gun At Brooklyn High School, NYPD Says
Police are investigating how the gun made it onto school grounds as the teen faces a gun possession charge.
BROOKLYN, NY — A 16-year-old student is facing charges after being caught with a handgun at a high school in Brooklyn on Tuesday.
The incident occurred inside The Brooklyn High School for Law and Technology, between Broadway and Howard Avenue, police said.
The teen was found with a gun following a 911 call to police just after 2 p.m., according to authorities.

In a statement from the Department of Education, an official told Patch that the gun was quickly recovered by the NYPD and that all students and staff are safe.
When asked about measures the school is taking, the spokesperson said the district will be providing additional security and support to the school community in the coming days.

"Weapons have absolutely no place in our schools, or our city," the spokesperson added.
According to reports, the student is now facing a gun possession charge.
