Watch: Sleeping Garbage Truck Driver Slams 13 Parked Cars

The driver of a private company's garbage truck fell asleep and crashed into a row of cars in Bed-Stuy Monday morning, according to reports.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A privately-owned garbage truck slammed into a row of 13 parked cars when its driver fell asleep at the wheel Monday morning, according to surveillance video and reports.

The Crown Container employee fell asleep behind the six-wheel truck near Nostrand and Flushing avenues around 6 a.m., according to a DNAinfo report.

Surveillance footage released by Yeshiva World News shows the truck careening over the bus lane and into the row of cars.

The NYPD did not have records of an arrest or summons relating to the incident, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.

A woman who answered the phone at Crown Container, the Queens-based private trash hauling company whose name appears on the side of the truck, said there was no one in the office available to comment.
