Woman Arrested In Suspected Brooklyn Social Distancing Death
Cassandra Lundy, 32, faces a manslaughter charge after a woman, 86, died following a fight over social distancing in a Bed-Stuy hospital.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A suspected social distancing fight that left an elderly woman dead landed a Brooklyn woman a manslaughter charge , authorities said.
Cassandra Lundy, 32, was arrested Thursday following days of outrage — including by outspoken and controversial right-wing actor James Woods — over the incident at Woodhull Medical Center.
Lundy is accused of shoving Janie Marshall, 86, to the ground on March 28 during a dustup over social distancing amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to reports. She claimed the elderly Marshall got in her face.

Marshall hit her head on the ground and died shortly after, authorities said.
It took several days for police to arrest Lundy, who was released by hospital police with a disorderly conduct ticket, the New York Daily News reported. Marshall's family told the paper that the hospital didn't call them for hours after her death and told them she died of heart failure.

A city medical examiner on Monday determined Marshall's cause of death to be caused by heart disease, with blunt impact injury of head as a contributing factor, the Daily News reported.
Police arrested Lundy on suspicion of manslaughter and assault. No official charges have yet shown up in online court records.
Marshall's death is believed to be the first coronavirus-related suspected homicide in the city.
