1-Car Fatal Thursday On Saw Mill River Parkway

The DOT has closed the a portion of the northbound parkway and announced a detour.

BEDFORD, NY — A car crash Thursday on the Saw Mill River Parkway near the Bedford-Mount Kisco border took the life of one person, Westchester County police said. The crash happened around 11:35 a.m. on the northbound side of the parkway.

The car went off the road north of Green Lane at Exit 38, hitting a tree, the Journal News said.

The person who died has not been identified.

Department of Transportation officials said the northbound parkway was closed at 11:40 a.m. at Exit 37, Kisco Avenue, due to the accident investigation.

All traffic is being detoured off at Exit 37, Kisco Avenue, to Preston Way to NY 117 and back on the parkway at Exit 39.
