18YO Mount Kisco Man Arrested For Ransacking, Stealing From Cars
Police said the vehicles were all unlocked.

BEDFORD, NY — A report of someone suspicious in a Bedford Hills residence’s driveway at 12:30 a.m. Friday led to the arrest of an 18-year-old Mount Kisco man. Bedford police said they responded to the report of a suspicious person in a driveway on Babbitt Road. The person fled from the scene.
An investigation found that two unlocked vehicle at the original address and several other unlocked vehicles in the vicinity were entered and ransacked. Police said some of vehicles had items stolen from them.
A suspect was identified and arrested later in the day.

The 18-year-old, whose name was not released by the police because he is eligible for youthful offender status, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies.
He was arraigned in the Bedford Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

Police said more charges are forthcoming.
Residents are urged to keep their vehicles locked to help prevent such crimes of opportunity.
