2-Car Head-on Collision Under Investigation in Lewisboro

LEWISBORO, NY — A two-car head-on collision that occurred in the Town of Lewisboro is under investigation.

State Police said the accident happened around 10:36 p.m. Dec. 27 on Route 35 in the area of Mead Street.

According to investigators, Sigalit Leitner, 51, of Lewisboro, was traveling east on Route 35, and Patrick Vergara, 27, of Ridgefield, CT, was traveling west.

Police said Leitner crossed into the westbound lane and struck Vergara head-on.

Both drivers were taken to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation.

Leitner was issued traffic tickets for failing to keep right and for crossing road hazard markings.

The Lewisboro Police Department assisted the State Police.
