2 John Jay Senior Are Merit Scholarship Finalists
About 1.6 million high school students enter every year.

CROSS RIVER, NY — John Jay High School announced that two of its seniors are National Merit Scholarship finalists. Johanna Shechter and Jessica Leff, who is also the valedictorian, were named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program.
"Johanna and Jessica embody the values and high standards inherent in this renowned program," said Principal Steven Siciliano.
About 1.6 million high school students enter every year. Fifty thousand students with the highest PSAT/NMSQT scores qualify for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
