2 NY Bakeries Rated For Best Apple Pie In America: Report

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Apple pie. How American is that? If you were wondering where in America you can get the best apple pie, The Daily Meal food and drink website has you covered with “Where to Find America’s Best Apple Pies.”

Their editors scoured the internet for “best pie” lists, as well as great reviews, to come up with a list of 17 places where you can find the best apple pies in the country.

The winning pie spots span the country from Massachusetts to Washington state, with stops along the way in Illinois and New Mexico, for good measure.

Closer to home, though, two New York pie shops made the list:

• Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Brooklyn and Long Island

This New York bakery, which sells pies whole or by the slice, was founded by a pair of sisters from rural South Dakota. A specialty of theirs is Salty Caramel Apple Pie, according to The Daily Meal.

Four & Twenty Blackbirds is taking orders now for Thanksgiving pies and has three pickup locations.

• Little Pie Company, NYC

Little Pie Company is the place to head to when you are next in the theater district, in case you need an excuse to stop by. It’s been in business since 1985, making pies from scratch. Their signature pie is a Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie made with Granny Smith apples.

The shop's Thanksgiving Week Menu includes Old-Fashioned Apple Pie, Southern Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Sweet Potato Pie, which is limited in quantity.

But if you can’t get down to the city or don’t want to have a pie shipped to you, there are a number of bakeries in the Hudson Valley.
