Husband Kills Wife, Daughter, Then Self, Police Say: UPDATE

Police said the scene was consistent with a murder-suicide.

POUND RIDGE, NY — State Police have released the names of people found dead Friday in Pound Ridge. A preliminary investigation indicated that 56-year-old Steven Dym of Pound Ridge, took the life of his 50-year-old wife Loretta Dym and their daughter, Caroline Dym, 18, before taking his own life.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the cause of death of all three subjects, State Police said.

A woman who arrived to clean the house at 23 Fox Hill Road found the bodies of the family.

POUND RIDGE, NY — State police said the home in Pound Ridge where three people were found dead Friday was consistent with a murder-suicide. They are not looking for any suspects, police said, adding that they were not releasing the names of the deceased individuals at this time.

Police would not say who the murderer was or how all three died.

Neighbors told News 12 the family was in the process of selling the house.

POUND RIDGE, NY — New York State Police from the Somers barracks, partnered with the Pound Ridge Police Department, responded to a residence on Fox Hill Road in the Town of Pound Ridge around 11:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25. Officers arrived on scene and discovered three people deceased in an apparent murder suicide.

A mother, a father and an 18-year-old child were found dead, Eyewitness News said.

Almost six years ago, another tragic murder suicide took place in nearby Cross River.

Amy Friedlander and her children Molly and Gregory were murdered by Friedlander's estranged husband, Sam Friedlander, before he committed suicide on Oct. 18, 2011.
