KATONAH, NY — Big Ocean will bring the energy of K-pop across the Pacific in a unique performance at a storied venue.
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah will present a concert by K-pop group Big Ocean on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
Big Ocean is described as "the world's first K-pop group composed of artists who are hard of hearing." The group debuted in 2024 and has drawn international attention for performances that incorporate Korean Sign Language, American Sign Language, and visual storytelling. Caramoor said the trio's mission is "to create a world where music is accessible to everyone."
The group consists of PJ, Chanyeon, and Jiseok. Big Ocean has been featured by The New York Times, BBC, ABC News, CNN, and The Associated Press, and has collaborated with United Nations agencies and organizations focused on accessibility and inclusion.
Big Ocean visited the venue in June and spent time in the historic Rosen House. During that visit, the group tried Lucie Rosen's theremin, played the piano, and gave an impromptu private performance on the Music Room stage. Caramoor said the trio enjoyed the space and decided to return to Katonah for the September concert.
The performance will be held in the Rosen House Music Room at 149 Girdle Ridge Road. Tickets go on sale to the public on Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. through Caramoor's website.
The performance is part of the special programming at Caramoor, the former estate of Walter and Lucie Rosen. The organization said the Rosen House Concert Series is held in the Music Room of the historic home, a Mediterranean-style villa from 1939. The venue presents artists in what Caramoor described as a living room salon setting where the Rosens once entertained guests.
Caramoor gardens and grounds are open year-round, free of charge, for picnicking and walking daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
