Clarke Jr., 95, was longtime Katonah resident and Navy veteran (therecorder.org) — A longtime Katonah native and Navy veteran who attended school in Bedford and belonged to the Bedford Golf and Tennis Club has died at 95. His life spanned military service, a long finance career, and summers in Rhode Island, and he is remembered by a large, close-knit family for his love of golf, gardening, and wordplay.
   

• Santomero Family Foundation (insidephilanthropy.com) — A Bedford-based family foundation quietly funds local education, religious, environmental, arts, and equine nonprofits, while also backing national conservative policy groups. Bedford and Westchester organizations with personal ties to the Santomero family's civic and equine networks are most likely to receive these generally modest but sometimes five-figure grants, which are not available through open applications.
