The investigation began in April, after a victim reported multiple unauthorized charges totaling more than $1,800 for Lyft rideshare services. Barboza was employed at a nursing home in the Town of North Salem, where the victim had previously reported her purse missing.

On Friday, Barboza was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of North Salem Court on Nov. 2.
