It’s late spring and young animals and birds abound. Many people get the wrong impression when they encounter these little ones. Our nurturing instincts usually result in the worst outcomes in these interactions. Birds with all their feathers are still taken care of by their parents, even if they cannot fly yet! A fawn and most animals rely on their camouflage and hence, do not move even when within touching distance. Don’t touch! Human scent on a young mammal can result in rejection by the mother.
